Anna Winger (born 1970) is an American writer living in Berlin, Germany. She was raised by anthropologists in Massachusetts and in Mexico and studied at Columbia University.
She is the creator of the television drama GERMANY 83 and author of the novel THIS MUST BE THE PLACE (Riverhead). Her personal essays have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Winger’s radio series for NPR Worldwide, Berlin Stories, is a literary archive about the city. It has been on the air since 2009.
